KUZNICA

Kuznica Bialostocka is situated on the Lososna river 16 km from Sokolka. Kuznica obtained municipal rights in 1546 but lost them after the First World War. During World War II 90% of it was destroyed. Now it is a borderland and has rail and road routes to Belorussia. The river is extremely clean with a variety of fish. There is a wooden mansion in Lososna Mala, and the oldest surviving mansion in Bialystok province - in Pawlowicze (dating from the beginning of the 16th c.). There are 6 primary schools, a stadium and a basket-making factory. The railway track from Warsaw to Saint Petersburg goes through the town.
